Partner Technical Specialist, IBM
Experienced and grizzled 30 year vet of the technology industry.
I've been incredibly fortunate during my career to work for some amazing local and global systems integrators and some of the world's finest technology vendors. During this time I have made many wonderful friends and connections and have valued the time, experience and advice each one of them has brought to me.
This experience has given me broad perspective on technology, from aspects such as data protection me management, to enterprise storage and computer and infrastructure architecture.
Having been in the industry for as long as the digital revolution has been going on, I have been fortunate to be on the cutting edge of technological innovation and development and have seen the industry grow from an evil necessity to business critical.
I've survived through the dot com crash, the advent of 286, 386, 486 and Pentium processors, through the early adoption of all flash arrays, to the emergence of Cloud technologies and now AI. And the core to all of these technologies, past, present and future, is the requirements for it to run on something... That has a CPU, memory, disk and a connection.
All of this insight has given me the ability to present confidently, something I really enjoy, advocating for the continuance of infrastructure in the data centre, and standing in front of a willing audience always provides a rush that gets the juices flowing.
