CEO, Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA)
Ms Maluleka-Disemelo is the current Chief Executive Officer of ICASA. Prior to her appointment, Ms Maluleka-Disemelo served as the Chief Audit Executive (CAE) of ICASA, a position she has held since 2020.
Ms Maluleka-Disemelo has over two decades of experience in governance, auditing and executive management, she has a wealth of expertise in driving institutional efficiency, compliance and strategic alignment. In addition to her professional experience, Ms Maluleka-Disemelo holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Milpark Business School, further complementing her leadership and strategic management acumen
She has collaborated with Council of ICASA to develop, amongst others, ICASA’s strategic plan, policies and procedures for managing organisational risks.
In addition to her role at ICASA, she was appointed as the inaugural Chairperson of the Information, Communication Technologies and Media Regulators Forum of South Africa, also known as the Regulator’s Forum, which is a collaborative platform established to enhance regulatory coordination, eliminate duplication and encourage innovation in the country’s rapidly evolving digital and media landscape.
She has represented South Africa and ICASA in various international fora, including the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) Digital Week CTO where she moderated a number of sessions
She’s an advocate for youth empowerment, women in technology and STEM education and encourages them to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge required to excel in the ICT sector.
