Dr Xolile Sibande, PhD, is the Senior Manager for Information and Cyber Security (CISO) at the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA). She is an accomplished cybersecurity leader, technologist, speaker, non-executive board member and academic with over a decade of experience in information security, risk management, compliance, and digital transformation. Dr Sibande holds a PhD in Management from Wits Business School, along with a Master of Commerce in Information Systems and several international certifications, including CISA, CISM, and AWS. In her current role, Dr. Sibande sets the strategic direction for cybersecurity, overseeing the implementation of policies, governance frameworks, and enterprise-wide risk mitigation initiatives. Her career includes senior positions at Vodacom, We Secure I.T., and the University of Johannesburg, where she led critical programs to strengthen cybersecurity resilience and maturity. As both a practitioner and scholar, she is dedicated to bridging theory and practice, offering thought leadership at the intersection of technology, governance, and strategic risk.
