One of Nebula’s clients, a leading retail chain-store group in SA with 22 brands and more than 3 000 outlets, needed to implement a set of new business-critical applications, to allow them to rapidly respond to business changes. These new applications had to be able to quickly and cost-effectively scale on demand, according to the group’s roll-out strategy, and on growth and revenue projections.
To achieve the benefits derived from this solution, the customer decided to transform the existing on-premises applications to a Microsoft Azure-based cloud architecture. The new cloud infrastructure had to enable a comprehensive DevOps environment where new functionality could be rapidly deployed, while also being reliable, secure, cost-effective and easy to manage.
Nebula and Netsurit have a long-standing relationship; the two companies leveraged this to partner with the customer to deliver the new Azure solution. Nebula has a strong track record of successfully designing and implementing complex applications for enterprise customers in several fields. Netsurit has developed the Azure Done Right (ADR) framework.
ADR includes a comprehensive set of templates, procedures and patterns for effective implementation and management of Azure solutions to host Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) workloads. ADR covers implementation and management of several important parts of an Azure environment, including workload lifecycle management, networking, security, operations, cost management and migration.
The combined expertise of Nebula and Netsurit led to a successful implementation that met the customer’s needs. The new Azure solution has provided a modern application environment where developers can use DevOps capabilities to rapidly move functionality from concept to production, and the cloud infrastructure can scale in line with changes on demand. Comprehensive security controls have been built into all parts of the solution, providing trust in the integrity of the business processes and data.
Through the value added by Netsurit and Nebula, the customer has achieved success in enabling their cloud infrastructure to scale on demand based on the business growth.
