TheNationalDevelopmentPlan(NDP)2030isalongtermSouthAfricandevelopmentplan, developedbytheNationalPlanningCommission(NPC)incollaborationandconsultationwithSouthAfricansfromallwalksoflife.
Theplanaimstoeliminatepovertyandunemploymentandreduceinequalityby2030.ItalsostatesthatSouthAfricacanrealisethesegoalsbydrawingontheenergiesofitspeople, growinganinclusiveeconomy, buildingcapabilities, enhancingthecapacityofthestate, andpromotingleadershipandpartnershipsthroughoutsociety.
Theplansetstargetsandidentifiesmechanismsforeffectiveimplementationinkeyareasclusteredinto15chapters.InordertoensureachievementoftheNDP2030vision, GovernmentanditsentitieshavedevelopfiveyearMediumTermStrategicFramework(MTSF)andAnnualPerformancePlans(APP)annually, alignedtotheNDP2030vision.TheprogressonimplementationismonitoredbytheDepartmentofPlanningMonitoringandEvaluation(DPME).
