BC perception gap persists

According to Continuity Central, a new survey by Marsh has found that many European firms are failing to overcome a 'perception gap' in their approach to business continuity management.

Marsh's latest research, 'The Upside to Business Continuity', examines the views and perceptions of business continuity and risk managers from organisations across Europe on issues relating to BCM.

The study highlights that while over three-quarters of respondents believed that their business continuity management system is: aligned to their strategic business objectives, integrated into their risk management programme and is understood/supported by senior management, only half believe that business continuity is used as a strategic tool within their organisations

Vision introduces express offering

Vision Solutions, a high availability (HA) and disaster recovery solutions provider in IBM's Power Systems market has introduced an express offering targeting small to medium IBM System p customers using AIX, states CNN Money.

Collaborating with IBM and distribution partner Arrow ECS, Vision Solutions is providing affordable, reliable, and easy-to-use high availability solutions for businesses of all sizes.

"By partnering with Arrow and IBM, superior systems solutions are now easily available to the small to mid-market," says Vision Solutions senior VP of EMEA and Americas Sales, Bob Johnson.

Fujitsu releases BC offering

Fujitsu in America has released an integrated business continuity offering comprising primary and target SAN storage, network bandwidth, replication software, co-location hosting for the target storage, and three year's telephone support, says Blocks and Files.

The marketing pitch is that mid-sized businesses need disaster recovery and business continuity facilities but can't afford them, partly because they have to deal with so many suppliers.

Fujitsu has therefore set up a bundled turnkey business continuity offering called the Fujitsu Affordable Business Continuity Solution (FABCS).
