ATEC and its newly-appointed "business management systems" partner, Autotask Corporation, a leading provider of hosted IT business management software, recently hosted an inaugural "working breakfast" in Pretoria to launch a fast-track implementation of the Autotask system.
Present at the launch was the ATEC management team, and George Colson of Autotask, who had flown out from the UK after signing the contract just five days ago!
ATEC, an established systems company with offices in Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, offers integrated niche FttH (fibre to the home) telecommunications infrastructure and access control service offerings. It has experienced a year-on-year doubling of growth, outstripping the capabilities of its existing systems, and expects this trend to continue this year.
In the words of Louis Parker, ATEC CEO: "It has been a great position to be in, but the exponential growth has led to some pain as well. To maintain our customer experience, we have focussed on the very necessary integrated technology perspective, but this has, at times, been at the cost of administrative issues such as customer management and ad hoc billing, for example. We have been acutely aware of the growing problem and have tried to address it over the last few years, but always the immediate operational needs of satisfying our customers have distracted us."
Parker continued: "Now that our business model is proven, we have appointed a consultant in FttH and telecom operations to, among other things, complete the selection of an all-encompassing management system for our business. This workshop, happening just five days after the signing, will allow us to kick off the new financial year with the new system in place, relieve some of the pressure on our fantastic workforce, and offer our customers an even better experience. It will also allow us to take our business model forward and implement some really great improvements for our customers, including the property developers, home owners' associations and our service providers. We can now also proceed with a tweak to our business model to align with international best practices."
George Colson of Autotask was thrilled to be out, and not only for the weather! "ATEC was very thorough in its research and evaluation prior to selecting Autotask," Colson said. "That process gave us a much better understanding of its business requirements, and allows us to proceed very quickly with the implementation and ensure they'll be up and running on Autotask quickly."
