Esquire Technologies, one of southern Africa's leading distributors of computer hardware and peripheral products, has been appointed a Premier Partner (Systems Builder) by Computer Associates (Africa).
In terms of the appointment, Esquire will bundle CA's eTrust Antivirus software with PCs and servers built or assembled by the company for distribution to resellers in southern Africa.
According to Matthew Barker, a sales executive at Computer Associates, the appointment is the first to be made by CA in Africa and follows the launch of a programme to extend comprehensive partnership-level support and technical backup to systems builders in Europe and the US.
"Esquire will purchase a number of licences for the first year of the agreement," says Barker. "We will do all we can to assist Esquire to add substantial value to its offerings. For example, CA will fully support the software via the Web and provide free upgrades and virus definition files to users for the life of the product."
Mahomed Cassim, sales director at Esquire, says: "We are excited to be part of CA's programme, as it adds value to the Esquire range of PCs and servers by increasing information security and assuring users of virus-free computing and peace-of-mind for the lifespan of the product."
