OpenWeb is the latest ISP to lower its uncapped ADSL prices.
OpenWeb is the latest ISP to lower its uncapped ADSL prices.

Another of SA's Internet service providers (ISP) has joined the cheaper broadband bandwagon, set in motion by Telkom last month.

OpenWeb today introduced a promotion on its Standard Uncapped ADSL products - a move the ISP says will save customers up to 60% per month on their ADSL packages.

Keoma Wright, OpenWeb CEO, says there are only 300 accounts available on promotion. Those who purchase the accounts will be billed on a pro rata basis for the rest of February.

The 1Mbps Standard Uncapped package is going for R109 per month, the 2Mbps for R209, 4Mbps for R349, and the 10Mbps for R599 per month.

Wright says Standard Uncapped is unthrottled, fast and has a lower contention ration - due to there being less people sharing capacity at any given time.

OpenWeb's latest offering follows lower price products from Telkom, MWeb and Web Africa, all within the space of about two weeks.
