Johannesburg, 13 Nov 2014

The Wi-Fi Forum of South Africa, a voluntary industry body comprising operators, service providers, technology providers and associated parties, was launched at AfricaCom in Cape Town today (13 November 2013).

Wi-Fi Forum SA aims to accelerate the adoption of high-speed, reliable and cost-effective broadband services in South Africa.

Wi-Fi Forum SA intends to provide an effective collaboration and advocacy body for the WiFi industry stakeholders.

It also aims to provide an effective mechanism for the self-regulation of the WiFi industry to ensure adherence to international WiFi agreements, standards, guidelines and practices and provide input to regulatory processes that would impact on the WiFi community.

The founding members are Internet Solutions, Dimension Data, Comsol and AlwaysOn.
