KTS Technology Solutions was awarded a contract for the Debit Card Payment Method in April 2011, after a rigorous dress rehearsal, which took place in October 2010, followed by intense presentations to Statistics South Africa.
KTS will be involved in the Census 2011 to be conducted by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) in October 2011, as the Paymaster utilising the Debit Card Payment Method to workers contracted by Stats SA as fieldworkers and fieldworker supervisors.
The Census project involves a door-to-door visit by the fieldworkers to assist South African citizens with the completing of the questionnaires to determine the statistics, which will assist with the planning for the delivery of services to the society at large.
KTS is contracted to ensure that payment of stipends is achieved for over 135 000 contract workers involved in the project, by November 2011.
