VOIP solution for business continuity
Phybridge has introduced 'UniPhyer', a VOIP enabler that company officials say will help businesses to run IP telephony using power over Ethernet and removing the need to have an optimised converged network, states TMCnet.
Using the UniPhyer to optimise a network upgrade for voice, video and data convergence, not only cuts down on costs, but also removes the possibility of business and network disruptions.
Business continuity is a key factor that often goes overlooked by businesses. However, as businesses rely more and more on technology to run their operations, and as the list of potential network threats grows, it has become an essential consideration.
Back-up service targets SMEs
Carbonite has unveiled an online backup service aimed at enticing small to medium-size enterprises (SMEs) with a new pricing model and additional features, including encryption, writes Computerworld.
The company says it has already backed up more than 39 billion files in its consumer business, including data from about 100 000 SMEs that pay $54.95 per year for unlimited storage.
But since Carbonite's consumer service doesn't always meet business requirements, the company is offering Carbonite Pro, which provides features "that small businesses have requested".
