Riebens Systems, the official reseller of the French Windev Development Suite in South Africa, has scheduled a four-day developers' workshop, running from 8 to 12 April 2013.
This is the first workshop on the Windev products in South Africa and many issues related to the migration from other languages, and especially Clarion to Windev, will be addressed.
Formal presentations will be combined with hands-on, practical programming with the assistance of the presenters. You'll learn how to make the most of the products you own or maybe discover some new reasons to get the complete suite if you haven't done so already!
The workshop venue is the Honeywood Farm. It borders on the wild and wonderful Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve up against the Langeberg Mountains, in a peaceful and secure environment.
Topics include:
1. Moving From Clarion (or other languages) to Windev Environment
2. Web Application Server and Hosting Environments
3. The HyperSQL Database System
4. The Source Control Management System
5. Deploying Your Applications
6. Interfacing with External Programs, Controls and Frameworks
7. Software as a Service (SaaS)
8. Developing for Windows, Internet, Linux, Java, Android, iOS, Windows Phone, etc
9. Sneak Peak at Windev 18 (If the English version is released by then)
10. Interactive examples and focused topic sessions between attendees.
For attendees who don't have any of the products, we will be making the latest Express versions available for installation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for in-depth learning along with receiving individualised help by the top developers in the WinDev community!
The cost for the four-day event, including meals and accommodation, is R 4 800 per person.
Travelling time from Cape Town is about three hours, so it is an excellent destination in itself. The sea at Witsand is only 40 minutes' drive away.
