Qualica Technologies has unveiled Save My Stuff, a backup and restoration solution for cellphones, which will be distributed by Exactmobile.

The solution enables users to backup or restore their cellphone contact directory and other information from anywhere, at any time.

David Rogers, Qualica MD, says: "Save My Stuff provides a third-party repository for critical personal contact information.

"Considering how many cellphones are lost, stolen or broken, it is increasingly important for consumers and business users to backup and restore their critical cellphone information.

"The solution uses a functionality that synchronises phone across the platforms of industry compliant cellphones," he explains.

He adds that backup functionality offered will vary according to the various handsets` capabilities, with the minimum functionality offered being the backing up of the contact`s directory.

Davin Mole, Exactmobile CEO, says the platform, built by Qualica, integrates into Exactmobile`s backend system - enabling payments for products via SMS.

"Users will pay a subscription fee of R10 a month for the Save My Stuff service. They will also be able to subscribe via SMS or purchase the solution through cellular retail stores," he says.

"Once the user has registered, the necessary settings will be sent to their phones, enabling them to perform a backup at any time from the phone," Mole says.
