BlackBerry has kicked off the holiday season with a new giveaway offer leading up to Christmas. Dubbed the 25 Days of Gifts, the offer sees BlackBerry each day unveiling a new premium paid app, game or video that is offered to BlackBerry 10 customers for free download.
The smartphone-maker says the offer will run until 25 December, and BlackBerry 10 users can visit BlackBerry World each day to see what new free premium app download is available that day. This means that users with a BlackBerry Z30, BlackBerry Z10, BlackBerry Q10 or BlackBerry Q5 qualify.
The offer launched on Sunday with Angry Birds Seasons for the first day, and yesterday the SharkDash app for users outside Canada, US and UK. Today's offering is the Card2You app.
This offering follows the launch of BlackBerry Messenger for Android and iPhone earlier this year, which proved the troubled smartphone company still has significant global popularity. BBM was made available to Android and iPhone users on 21 October and saw more than 10 million downloads in the first 24 hours, ending its first week with more than 80 million monthly active users.
Meanwhile, the company has revealed BBM will soon come preinstalled on a variety of Android-based smartphones from original equipment manufacturers across Africa, India, Indonesia, Latin America and the Middle East.
Last week, BlackBerry unveiled BBM Channels, a forum for active conversations between people, brands and communities, to users on BlackBerry OS 5 and above, and BlackBerry 10.
