3Com Corporation has announced new workgroup system solutions that provide enterprise customers of all sizes with the capacity to support voice, video and data applications at a significantly lower cost from wiring cabinet to desktop.
According to Henk van Eck, 3Com SA`s Network Consultant Manager, the new 3Com SuperStack II switches deliver Gigabit Ethernet network technology more affordably to speed up application response, facilitate workgroup collaboration and real-time file sharing.
Adding to the SuperStack II range, all uplink modules are now also bundled in at about the same price as the base system. The four variants that are available are the 3300XM, 3300TM, 3300SM and 3300MM. The TM, SM and MM have a 1000BaseT, 1000BaseSX and matrix module built in respectively, making it a much more attractive solution for customers needing 24 10/100 auto-sensing Ethernet ports per switch to every desktop.
3Com is also offering a new warranty for SuperStack II switches protecting customers` purchases of 3Com stackable switching through complementary access to telephonic technical support for the first year, and five years of advanced on-site hardware replacement within five days (of unit reported faulty) for the first year.
"Customers who once thought they couldn`t afford or manage the high-performance networking of Gigabit Ethernet technology for their enterprises will now be able to choose and easily integrate Gigabit Ethernet with the new, more-compact SuperStack II 3300 switches," says van Eck.
"Preparing the infrastructure for enterprise LAN telephony, wireless and desktop access, the new 3Com stackable switches support QoS (Quality of Service) and embedded web management interfaces for simplified management of network application traffic."
3Com Ethernet networks are among others the foundation for the 3Com NBX LAN telephony solution and the AirConnect wireless LAN solution, which can be easily added to existing infrastructures for increased flexibility, better application integration and simplified management.
