3D printing gets animated

DPLenticular has helped Bergman Media Group enter the 3D print market by collaborating closely with the company on an innovative new print product, reports Graphic Repro.

The company worked in tight partnership with Bergman to develop 3Dynamick - a plastic lens material that allows images to be printed in both three-dimensional and animated form.

This highly unconventional style of printing allows companies to present information in a far more stimulating way, helping them capture readers' attention quicker and for longer.

Durable paper for medical wristbands

Neenah Paper Technical Products has introduced Kimdura synthetic paper for medical wristbands and labels, states WhatTheyThink.

According to the company, the new Kimdura platform delivers a durable, waterproof and chemical-resistant face stock that withstands the demanding conditions found in medical environments in addition to incorporating multicolour imaging.

It adds that Kimdura for medical wristbands has excellent print durability, delivering reliable first-time scans and remaining smudge-proof, accurate and legible throughout a patient's stay.

Epson, EFI release proofing solution

Epson America and EFI have joined forces to create what both companies expect will be the most advanced and complete proofing solution on the market to date, according to PR Newswire.

The new Epson Stylus Pro 900 Series Proofing Editions combine the proofing advantages that come with the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 or 9900 wide format ink jet printers, along with EFI's most robust proofing RIP workflow to date, EFI Colorproof XF v4.0 for Epson.

“This collaboration between us and Epson combines the best of both companies to provide a powerful proofing workflow solution for both commercial and flexographic proofing applications," said Marc Olin, senior vice-president and GM, EFI Advanced Professional Print Software.
