3PAR utility storage solutions "useful for SA's energy crisis", says SYSDBA
SYSDBA is authorised to sell 3PAR InServ Storage Servers and 3PAR InForm software, including 3PAR Thin Provisioning, Virtual Copy, Remote Copy, Dynamic Optimization, and Virtual Domains, in SA.
"We build solutions addressing the manageability issues faced by data centres, with total-cost-of-ownership models which are relevant to our local market," says Chris Bamber, MD of SYSDBA.
He also believes that 3PAR Utility Storage could be useful for SA's current energy crisis. With blackouts being a reality for businesses, Bamber touts virtualisation as a solution for suffering data centres.
"If you need to run a data centre on emergency backup power, then you have to consider technologies such as 3PAR that reduce your power consumption and drive up utilisation of your resources," says Bamber.
3PAR storage is designed to work with the new generation of IT services, such as delivery of enterprise IT as a utility service, cloud computing over the Web, and service-oriented architecture-based applications.
The technology solutions are also designed to cater for open-systems storage consolidation, integrated data lifecycle management, and performance-intensive applications.
