SA's fourth mobile operator, 8ta, made the announcement yesterday, citing “the market's need for affordable broadband Internet” as the driving force behind the extension.
Launched in June this year, the Internet 5 Promo comprises a data bundle at a cost of R199 a month, with the option of an extra 10GB Midnight Surfer add-on bundle, at an additional cost of R100 a month for use between 12am and 5am. This is on a 24-month contract.
Equating to 1.5 cents per MB, 8ta says the promotion has been well received and has seen steady demand since its inception.
