The constantly growing demand for mobile data services has prompted Telkom's mobile arm to extend one of its entry-level mobile data offerings.
Go 3 Gigs Big prepaid data promotion, originally set to expire today, will now be valid until the end of May, says the operator.
Priced at R149, the promotion offers a 3GB data bundle, consisting of 2GB anytime data and 1GB “Midnight Surfer” data for use between midnight and 5am.
The prepaid data offer, which essentially translates into a cost of 5c per MB, is only available on 8ta's network.
Amith Maharaj, senior managing executive at Telkom Mobile, says that, while mobile data growth continues to burgeon in SA, “there is a gap in the market for affordable entry-level prepaid data products”.
The Go 3 Gigs Big promotion, says Maharaj, was developed by the national operator's mobile arm to cater for the needs of specific customer segments.
Other current data offers include the 10GB contract bundle and the 60GB+60GB prepaid bundle.
