EPSON is continuing its successful benchmark for photo-printing with the launch of the EPSON Stylus Photo 2100. The new seven colour, A3 photo printer is a digital printing solution, designed for the advanced photo enthusiast and professional photographer, providing the highest photo quality available on the market today replacing the Stylus 2000P.
The Stylus Photo 2100 comes complete with an automated paper cutter and will print directly onto CD`s. A new paper-handling feature makes the EPSON Stylus Photo 2100 flexible and easy to use.
The Stylus Photo 2100 uses seven colours to achieve its dynamic photo quality. The revolutionary UltraChrome inkset is reformulated quick-dry pigment ink that provides colour gamut, gloss levels and longevity of between 45 and 75 years (dependent on media). These are cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan, light magenta, light black and either standard or matte black. The introduction of light black offers improved gradation in light greyscale areas, therefore enhancing black and white input. The user has the choice of standard photo black or matte black depending on the output they require.
Says Hans Dummer, general manager of EPSON South Africa, "The EPSON Stylus Photo 2100 provides the very best quality output for any professional photographer. Its ink solution will provide users with a distinct advantage as they will have even more options to fine-tune and personalise their prints for unique results."
The customer can easily switch between black inks as each EPSON cartridge uses EPSON`s Intellidge chip to store print data and allow each colour to be replaced and re-inserted at a later date.
The Grey Balancer software allows users to calibrate the grey ink to suit their display conditions, ensuring prints can be fine-tuned to meet individual needs.
For those printing a number of photographs, the automatic cutter will be a huge benefit. The new feature will accurately cut photos on roll media allowing for fast continuous photo printing and the inclusion of a paper catch basket ensuring all the prints are collected safely.
Additionally, the EPSON Stylus Photo 2100 will print directly onto a CD, allowing the photographer to brand their digital images and personalise the CD for their client or customer. EPSON is the only manufacturer to offer this feature as standard on a photo printer.
Additional benefits are improved paper handling which means both roll and sheet media can be loaded at the same time. Users can chose to print from either paper source without having to adjust the paper path.
"EPSON holds the number one position in the photo printer market and this is maintained because we continue to provide photographers with output to impress. The Stylus Photo 2100 is no exception, offering photographers an affordable total digital printing solution," concludes Dummer.
Recommended retail price for the Stylus Photo 2100 is R9519.40 (Inc. Vat)
