ACCPAC introduces integrated, wireless warehouse management for the mid-market

Extends suite of end-to-end e-business solutions
Johannesburg, 18 May 2001

ACCPAC International, Inc, a division of the interBiz group of Computer Associates, has announced the availability of a wireless warehouse management system designed to automate essential warehouse operations, extending its suite of mid-market, end-to-end e-business solutions from the Web to the warehouse.

ACCPAC Warehouse Management System (WMS) leverages radio-frequency-based (RF) and bar-coding technologies to deliver a sophisticated and affordable warehouse management system fully integrated with the ACCPAC Advantage Series and ACCPAC Pro Series accounting and operations solutions. By automating the order fulfilment process through the use of RF devices, the ACCPAC WMS orchestrates the movement of warehouse personnel and inventory to allow multiple orders to be picked in a single pass. In addition, the WMS dramatically increases warehouse and inventory handling efficiency, offering users the ability to better monitor inventory flow, all but eliminating excessive inventory.

"ACCPAC Warehouse Management System accelerates the fulfilment process, improves warehouse accuracy and efficiency, and increases customer satisfaction while driving down costs," says Jeremy Waterman, managing director of ACCPAC Africa. "Mid-market companies now have a fully integrated e-business solution set from the Web store to the warehouse."

This system is designed to optimise daily warehouse activities while lowering inventory carrying costs and integrating purchasing and order-fulfilment processes. ACCPAC WMS can reduce receiving time up to 50%, improve picking and shipping accuracy to nearly 100%, and efficiently direct the storing of inventory through the creation of a virtually paperless warehouse environment.

"The warehouse is the last chance a company has to make certain they have the order perfect before it is shipped. By taking advantage of wireless handhelds, the ACCPAC Warehouse Management System makes our clients' operations much more efficient both in managing their inventory assets and in making warehouse staff more accurate and productive," explains Waterman.

Through its leading ACCPAC accounting and operations solutions, WMS may be integrated with ACCPAC eTransact, a Web store creation and management solution that supports business-to-consumer and business-to-business transactions. By seamlessly integrating the Web store with the warehouse, ACCPAC is providing the mid-market with a completely automated Web order processing and fulfilment solution, previously within the reach of only the largest corporations.

ACCPAC WMS is a key component of an integrated suite of e-business solutions including ACCPAC Advantage Series, ACCPAC eTransact, and ACCPAC eCRM, and is available through authorised ACCPAC Solution Providers.
