Acer`s new multi-media PCs, the Veriton 3600GT and Veriton 7600GT, are aimed at corporate IT and SOHO purchasers looking for a smart and cost-effective desktop PC with exceptional functionality.
The new Acer Veriton series PCs offer exceptional integrated graphics performance via a powerful processor chipset combo, enhanced data security, data and asset management features and PC health monitoring tools. In addition, the GT`s attractive black and charcoal case enhances the modern, professional working environment.
Improved security
"The Veriton GT series offers businesses and SMEs a reliable and cost-effective desktop PC that is capable of integrating technologies as they emerge, with rock-solid data security features built in," says John Geypen, product manager: desktops and servers, at Acer.
"Acer has incorporated the One-Button Recovery (OBR V2.0) into the Veriton GT series. This allows users to restore the factory default set-up or set recovery points to protect their work and data. The OBR makes recovery from a system failure simple and speedy and also restores programmes and any data or work stored on the machine - reducing the risk of data loss associated with restoring a system to its native state," says Geypen.
It also offers an advanced interface for changing BIOS setting with password protected and back up local image for security. The Acer LANScope6.0 simplifies remote monitoring and maintenance and the USBLock ensures that data cannot be copied to external storage media.
Improved design
As PCs have become an increasingly important part of the home setting, it has become essential that they complement the environment as a whole. The Acer Veriton 3600/7600GT series is specially re-designed to offer users a PC that is appealing in terms of aesthetics as well as technology.
"Following in-depth research, the charcoal and black colour combination was proposed for the new Veriton GT series. This is a neutral metallic colour scheme that will complement any contemporary professional or home interior design," says Geypen.
Other improvements include the smart-handle and the carefully designed optical drive slot, which ensures smoother opening and closing.
Rich interfaces
For added connectivity, the Acer Veriton GT series has eight USB 2.0 ports to enable fast transfer of data from external devices, as well as two PS/2 ports and three PCI slots. In addition, a full range of audio jacks, including headphone (line-out) jack, line in jack and Microphone jack, are sited on the front and back panels to support other digital connections.
The Veriton 7600GT series four USB ports and the audio ports are situated in an innovative, pop-up bracket in the top of the PC case - called the Acer TAP - for easy access.
Audio-visual enjoyment
Acer Veriton 3600//7600GTs are equipped with built-in Intel Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT) 2.0 graphics capability and an embedded 16 -bit Sound Blaster compatible AC`97 3D PCI card.
Easy manageability
Importantly, for administrators, Acer has ensured that the GT series can be easily managed in a networked environment to keep total cost of ownership down.
