Acer notebooks quick to incorporate ATI`s low-k technology

Johannesburg, 29 Mar 2004

Acer is among the IT industry`s earliest adopters of ATI Technologies` MOBILITY RADEON 700 next generation low-k manufacturing process.

The latest graphic technology from ATI will be used in a range of Acer`s mainstream, performance notebooks, including the Aspire 1610 and TravelMate 8000 and TravelMate 290.

The low-k feature enables the highest mobile clock speeds while reducing power consumption, resulting in enhanced performance for notebook users.

"Acer products are designed for the benefit of our users," says Gary De Menezes, commercial director at Acer. "With the ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9700 next generation low-k manufacturing process, we are incorporating the latest discrete graphic technology into our range of notebooks, allowing performance demanding users to enjoy outstanding video and cinematic experience while on the move."

"With recent advances in mobile graphics technology, consumers can now enjoy a rich visual experience from their notebook PCs that rivals that obtained at the desktop," says Phil Eisler, vice-president and general manager: Mobile and Integrated Products Group, ATI Technologies.
