Acer presents an exclusive Ferrari 3000 notebook

Johannesburg, 21 Oct 2003

Acer, the official Ferrari Formula One team supplier, has launched the exclusive Ferrari 3000, a notebook that typifies the innovation and technological leadership of two avant-garde companies with its elegance, design and technical features.

Gary DeMenezes, director and business unit manager of notebooks at Acer, says: "Innovation and technology have always played primary roles in the world of Formula One racing. Acer has designed a notebook that expresses these characteristics and typifies the principles that drive Acer`s Team to reach its growth targets."

Ferrari 3000 is based on an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ energy saving processor and integrates the most recent and advanced computer technologies.

"This is an exclusive product for managers and professionals who, without compromising image and performance, require the best," says DeMenezes.

With a light chassis and coloured Ferrari red and grey, the notebook offers the most advanced technology available for mobile users. It includes a TFT 15-inch screen supported by a speedy graphics engine, ATI Radon 9200, with 128MB video memory, 512MB DDR RAM and 60GB HD, as well as a DVD-RW - all managed by a powerful AMD processor to guaranty maximum performance. The Ferrari 3000 has wireless connections (standard IEEE 802.11b&g) and PAN with built-in Bluetooth, LAN connections with Gigabit Ethernet and phone line support with 56Kbps V. 92 modem/fax.

Displaying, managing and storing images and videos or connecting video and digital peripherals are easy with the Ferrari 3000 due to the DVD player/burner, quick USB ports, S-Video output, FireWire IEEE 1394 interface and 4-1 memory card drive.

"Ferrari 3000 is an elegant, refined and exclusive notebook that perfectly represents the research and innovation efforts of two companies that operate in very different sectors, but are so similar in their approach to achieving their growth and customer service goals," DeMenezes concludes.
