The AcerTravelMate 2000 series is designed to meet the needs of self-employed professionals and users from small, medium and large enterprises requiring a reliable notebook with full multimedia functionality and excellent connectivity features.
Acer TravelMate 2000 notebooks utilise Intel Celeron processors at up to 2.80GHz with 128KB L2 cache, ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 IGP chipsets and integrated DVD/CD-RW drive. The units come standard with 256MB DDR333 system memory, which can be expanded up to 2.0GB, while the ATA/100 Hard Disk starts at a minimum of 30GB.
The Acer TravelMate 2000 notebook is an ideal work instrument with full multimedia functionality. It features either 14.1-inch or 15-inch active matrix TFT displays with a resolution of 1024 x 768, integrated ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 IGP graphics controller supporting Microsoft DirectX 8.1, MPEG-2 DVD hardware support and S-video out (NTSC/PAL).
Acer TravelMate 2000 notebooks utilise DualView technology, allowing for simultaneous use of an LCD and an external CRT monitor, while the audio section offers built-in speakers and is fully MS-Sound compatible.
The Acer TravelMate 2000 range is configured with everything demanding users require, including a 56K fax/modem, network interface and Li-Ion battery with autonomy of two hours. Models with the 15-inch display weigh just 3.4kg.
The Acer TravelMate 2000 provides full connectivity through the built-in V.92 56Kbps fax/modem and an integrated 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet card.
All models feature a complete set of I/O ports, including one parallel port, four USB 2.0 ports, an infrared (FIR) port, as well as microphone and headphone jacks. In addition, the Acer TravelMate 2000 models incorporate a VGA connector for external monitors and two Type II or one Type III PCMCIA CardBus slots.
The Acer TravelMate 2000 notebook is supplied with Microsoft Windows XP Home or Professional Edition preinstalled with a Recovery CD and additional software. This includes a full set of utilities to fine tune the system (Acer Notebook Manager, Acer Launch Manager) and programs such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, Norton AntiVirus - which can be updated directly over the Internet - and NTI CD Maker.
