Acer unveils 3D monitor

Consumers can view movies, videos, photos and games in 3D by using the new monitor - no extra software is required.

According to IT News Africa, the monitor, with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, is the ideal monitor for advanced 1080p full HD gaming on a PC, Blu-ray disc console gaming, wide-screen movie playback, and multimedia and productivity applications.

“Every detail is so clear, bright and rich in colour; immersing yourself in your favourite game or movie has never been so utterly exhilarating,” says Chris White, senior director of product marketing at Acer America.

Acer includes a set of polarised glasses that deliver vibrant 3D imagery without straining the eyes, Market Wire notes.

Film-patterned retarder (FPR) technology in the Acer display and glasses enable a flicker-free 3D viewing experience.
