Acer unveils Aspire Ethos laptop range

The Acer Aspire Ethos comes in two models. The 18.4in 8951G and 15.6in 5951G are mid-range machines with audio and visual bells and whistles designed for movie playback.

“The Aspire 8951G is the ultimate multimedia magnate boasting a frameless Full-HD display and dual HDD. The Aspire 5951G is a great alternative for consumers who love the top features but are looking for something a little smaller,” iTech Report quotes senior product manager for consumer notebooks at Acer Australia, Chris Osborne as saying.

According to Current, the higher-end 8951G boasts a second-generation Intel core i7 processor and Full HD 1080p output, while the 5951G has an i5 processor with HD 720p output.

Users can also take their HD content experience to a television with the 8951G, by using HDMI to transfer the 1080p HD 'experience' to a compatible TV.

Both models feature Dolby Home Theatre v4 sound systems with five built-in speakers and a subwoofer, and an optional Blu-Ray Disc or DVD optical drive.
