The AcerTravelMate C100 Convertible Tablet PC has been endorsed and honoured by media from around the world.
"These endorsements have come from respected publications like Fortune, Business Week and PC World in various mediums like Internet, print publications and television," says Graham Braum, notebook product manager at Acer. "Awards have also been granted to the Acer TravelMate C100`s design and technology."
At the 2002 Intel Innovative PC Awards, presented on 10 September 2002, the Acer TravelMate C100 Convertible Tablet PC received an award in the Slate/Tablet mobile PC category for its innovative design and invention. According to Intel, the Acer TravelMate C100 "integrates a user`s natural and practical needs and revolutionises the conventional way of using a mobile PC with the direct pen-input feature. Moreover, the embedded wireless and convertible panel make it a genuine mobile PC".
In July and August, both Fortune and PC World featured special reports about the Tablet PC, highlighting the Acer TravelMate C100`s writing feature and the swivelling (180 degree) and folding-back screen. In addition, ARN magazine described the Acer TravelMate C100 in its executive summary as having, "a comfortable, pressure-sensitive pen and a sturdy, paper-like writing surface".
"We are celebrating our initial success of the Acer TravelMate C100," Braum adds. "We believe that Acer`s integration of technology offers an effective product designed for greater business productivity and improved ease-of-use."
The Acer TravelMate C100 was officially demonstrated during the 2002 Computex Taipei tradeshow, and received the `Best of Computex Award`.
