Global vendor Epson has released a new look and feel to its ink cartridge packaging. Although its product remains instantly recognisable, the company has decided to apply cosmetic touches that involve updated information and a user-friendly picture guide.
The new-look ink cartridge packaging is a lot more functional. The addition of pictures with updated text allows users to select the correct ink cartridge. However, the consumer will not be overwhelmed with too much data - information on the package is kept to a minimum, and in-depth detail and usage advice is reserved for a manual located on the back of the package.
As a recognised consumables distributor for Epson, Advanced Consumables Technology (Pty) Ltd (ACT) is excited about the value this will bring through to its market.
"The concept is based on the selection of three representative graphics which each correspond with a specific printer classification group. Now, users can select from animal (representing photographic use), object (SOHO use) and a combination of both with sport images (business use). It is a clever way of making it easier for consumers to purchase exactly what they want. All people have to remember is what image represents their particular needs, as well as the particular colours required. Product codes are no longer a prerequisite," says Laetitia van den Berg, Epson product manager at ACT.
ACT believes its strategy to market is correct and will benefit its customer base.
