The highly anticipated update to Adobe's Elements range is finally here: Photoshop and Premiere Elements 13. These two popular consumer products offer many exciting new features for the everyday photo and video editor.
"End-users don't always have the time or the know-how to achieve the results they desire," says Jeremy Matthews, CEO of Dax Data. "In Photoshop Elements 13 and Premiere Elements 13, Adobe has focused on developing tools that automate the process or guide users through the steps to create the photos they'll love and want to share."
What's new in Photoshop Elements 13?
* Better photo mashups: Copying people or objects from one photo to another - a consumer favourite - is now as easy as "copy and paste" with new Photomerge Compose. Used in conjunction with the new Refine Selection Brush for precise selections and Adobe's Match Colour Tone that automatically blends lighting and shading, the final photo looks as if it were taken that way.
* Stand out with an innovative Facebook page: Easily combine Facebook cover and profile photos with text and graphics to create an integrated layout that's guaranteed to be an attention grabber.
* Black-and-white photos with personality: Three new Guided Edits add flair to black-and-white photos facilitating pops of colour or fine-tuning for a more dramatic approach.
* With the latest Photoshop Elements, it's easier than ever to sync mobile photos with Elements to free up memory and do fun transformations. Users can also sync Elements photos with their mobiles, to access files from anywhere.
What's new in Premiere Elements 13?
* Minimise time spent trimming footage - Use Favourite Moments to mark the best parts of a clip, then assemble them into a short movie ready for sharing.
* Introduce a little Hollywood flare - Add video footage to movie titles with Video in Titles; apply a blur or add other popular effects to specific areas of the frame.
* New Guided Edits let users add drama and professionalism to projects.
* Video Story's themes and templates gather fragmented clips into a coherent story.
* Applying the improved Shake Stabilizer to action footage makes viewing first-person adventures and sports much more enjoyable.
