Affinity Logic implements SAP Project Systems module

SAP Africa has announced that Affinity Logic, a Datatec associate company that specialises in providing a comprehensive range of IT solutions to the retail and consumer products industries, has gone live with the SAP Project Systems.

The SAP Project Solution is a complete project management solution within mySAP PLM Program and Project Management. The implementation will enable Affinity Logic to manage internal projects and processes.

SAP Project System offers multi-faceted functionality, by supporting an organisations project management in all phases of development. The solution encompasses the entire lifecycle of an organisations project from the initial idea to its completion, aiding a successful project management system and controlling business objectives in a targeted and cost-effective manner.

Affinity Logic incorporated the mySAP Financials Solution (mySAP FS) some time ago and based on the success achieved, decided to expand their investment to incorporate SAP Project Systems. The implementation went live at the beginning of February 2002.

"At Affinity Logic, we offer our clients an integrated service management model and therefore required a collaborative solution such as SAP Project System to manage our internal projects and processes. Any organisation running multi-faceted projects require a product management system that is easy to use. SAP Project System offer this exact solution," says Johan Braak, project manager at Affinity Logic SA.

"We have gained a number of benefits by integrating SAP Project System into our business model. Many of the projects we complete are SAP implementations and with this we have taken SAP's methodology and customised it for our own use, building it into our project management structures," says Braak.

Braak adds that SAP PS provides the company with the ability to manage project budgets, keeping control over resource availability, calculates automatic cost recoveries and generates month-end settlement reports. "We are able to obtain a better view of our future business requirements enabling correct action plans to ensure a successful project implementation. SAP PS module will be rolled-out as a standard throughout all Affinity Logic projects," comments Braak.
