Afghan Air Force in desktop training

The Afghan Air Force (AAF) and the Nato Air Training Command-Afghanistan advisors recently started a new computer training course called A+ training, reveals NTM-A.

The training provides the basic fundamentals on desktop computers and networking. Upon completion of the course, the AAF technicians or individuals will be able to demonstrate knowledge of installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing desktop system and basic network management processes.

Afghan A+ Instructor, Ahmad Jaweed Muslim explains: “This type of training is essential and very important for the students working in the technology field. They deserve it and they can benefit from it, because they can implement each and every point they study in class in their practical life.”

Online high school opens

Since starting classes last week, the George Washington (GW) University Online High School joins a small but growing number of college preparatory schools that operate entirely online, says College Media Network.

Though other online high schools exist in several states, what sets GW's new school apart is its connection to a research university.

Michael Feuer, dean of the Graduate School of Education and Human Development, says the programme will allow students and faculty to conduct research into how online learning affects students.

Farmers get social media training

Iowa farmers and those involved in the industry are invited to participate in a series of free, online training Webinars to learn how to best use social media to engage in conversations with consumers about modern agriculture practices, notes The Messenger.

The first of the monthly Webinar series will be held tomorrow. This session is the first in the 2011 Social Media Training by National Corn Growers Association.

"Consumers are turning to social media to learn about modern agriculture," says Jay Lynch, an Iowa Corn Growers Association director and a farmer from Humboldt. "Not all of the information about agriculture presented is correct.”
