Aircraft company gets self-service HR
Jordan Aircraft Maintenance has deployed MenaME, the employee and manager self-services solution developed by Middle East & North Africa Internet Technologies (MenaITech), as part of its human capital automation processes, says Al Bawaba.
JorAMCo's HR general manager, Bassam Aqel, said: "JorAMCo selected MenaITech two years ago as its HR management system vendor due to the fact that its product suite consists of high-level human capital processes unique to the region.
“This year we launched the self-services solution MenaME, which will have a noticeable effect on the organisation as a whole, since all employees in the company will have access to their own portals for any HR or payroll-related enquiries or requests,” he adds.
Pixazza raises $12m for geo-tagging
Google-backed photo ad network Pixazza has raised $12 million to support a geo-tagging technology aimed at smaller publishers, writes New Media Age.
The funding will support a self-service version of the technology, with revenue from advertising shared with publishers.
Pixazza, which is a similar service to Google AdSense but for images, enables publishers to tag products within images used on their sites and link them to shopping sites like Amazon and Zappos. So far the software has been used across fashion, home furnishings and travel.
Self service extends library hours
Extra opening hours could be on the cards for a village library with the help of new self-service technology, according to The Citizen.
County council library officials are installing self-service readers at Fence Library, which have already been introduced in Nelson and Colne.
Currently there is a librarian who works there for a limited period during the week, and that role will be maintained.
