Al Gore mulls e-book reinvention

, along with global warming and a failed presidential attempt, is having a crack at re-doing the e-book, reports Tech Eye.

Al Gore has teamed up with two former Apple geniuses, Kimon Tsinteris and Mike Matas, to publish 'Our Choice', an app version of Gore's 2009 book about global warming.

While the book is probably old news, the outfit printing it Push Pop Press said that the book “will change the way we read books”.

According to CBR, among the new features, the e-book has high-quality photography, interactive graphics, geo-located photos and animations. It also has a narration from Gore himself and video.

The Push Pop Press publishing platform “opens doors to telling a story with more photos, more videos and interactions,” Matas told Wired magazine.

The apps have been designed to optimise all the features available in the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, including touch-screen gestures and intuitive pinch gestures.

Tsinteris originally worked at Apple as an engineer working on Mac OS X and on the Maps app for iPhone, while Matas was hired by Apple from Delicious Monster in 2005 at the age of 19 to help develop the visual style of Mac OS X and iOS user interface designs, notes Apple Insider.
