Altech subsidiary Isis Information Systems has completed its restructuring programme, emerging as a telecommunications-focused company.
Among other steps, the company disposed of its Advanced Systems division to Grintron, while two other divisions, consulting and projects, were sold to sister company Keops Altech.
Isis manager Johan Gellatly says the company has grown its staff count from 60 at the beginning of the year to more than 100, indicating the level of business activity being experienced.
Established in 1984, Isis is wholly owned by JSE-listed Altech.
Altech CEO Craig Venter says management had identified the telecommunications sector as a high-growth area, one in which Isis has been involved for more than seven years.
Gellatly says Isis is in negotiations with smaller network operators that have expressed interest in the company`s services and product offerings. "We are also excited and optimistic about securing more African business."
He says Isis will in future focus on system integration and software development in the telecommunications industry, particularly on enterprise application integration, subscriber provisioning and administration, billing, revenue assurance, fraud management and interconnect billing solutions.
