PC-WARE, a Gold Partner of Altiris, now part of Symantec, and Microsoft LAR, is hosting an industry breakfast on Wednesday, 7 November in Johannesburg.
The presentation, with demos, will cover the Altiris Deployment Solution, eg, the widely discussed migration to Microsoft Vista. Furthermore, service-oriented management with the new CMDB solution and the integrated endpoint management solutions, with unique security features, will be discussed.
Altiris service-oriented management solutions provide a modular and future-proof approach to managing highly diverse and widely distributed IT infrastructures. They are open solutions that enable life cycle integration of client, handheld, server, network and other IT assets with audit-ready security and automated operation.
Maurice Staal, Managing Director for PC-WARE South Africa, says: "In the realm of information technology, knowledge is power and Altiris` service-oriented management tools certainly empower companies further. We will elaborate extensively on this at the breakfast."
Staal adds: "PC-WARE is flying out Sven Messinger. He is the PC-WARE Altiris Global Product Manager from Germany and we are proud to have him as our guest speaker. Furthermore, John Thomas, Regional Manager of Altiris, has accepted our invitation to talk about the product."
John Thomas underlines: "I believe this topic is of great importance to the current marketplace. What Altiris solutions change is the way companies go about it - by combining the asset repository and the configuration management database (CMDB)." Thomas will also shed some light on Altiris` future under the Symantec umbrella and the move by Symantec to incorporate its products on the Notification Server Console from Altiris.
Just recently, PC-WARE extended its presales and technical team with Altiris specialists. They have also been trained on software asset management. Software audits are provided to all PC-WARE`s Microsoft enterprise and select agreement customers. A software audit is a service that is a prerequisite for good software license management and compliancy.
Because of the new Gold Partnership between PC-WARE and Altiris, PC-WARE will host more events that will focus on the ever-increasing functionality available from Altiris.
