AMD products shipment delayed

Tight supply of AMD graphics processing units (GPUs), has caused several PC vendors to delay their mass shipment schedules, reports Legit Reviews.

These vendors have delayed their shipments by about two months to the first quarter of 2010.

In addition to graphics cards and desktops, the shortage is also forcing AMD to delay the mass shipment schedule of its ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5000 series (Manhattan) GPUs for notebooks to the first quarter of 2010 from the originally planned fourth quarter of 2009.

Nano 3000 released

VIA has released its Nano 3000 series processors for netbooks and all-in-one desktops, according to India server.

Nano 3000 series processors can be chipped with the superscalar 'Isaiah' micro-architecture and can support the newly released Windows 7 operating system.

The notebooks featuring the processor are faster due to the implementation of the streaming SIMD extensions 4 instructions and the frequency for the processors is kept between 1GHz and 1.8GHz.

Nvidia eyes x86 processor market

Nvidia, according to an analyst, could start making its own x86 processors to target both mainstream PCs and low-end mini notebooks, states eWeek.

This is as Intel and AMD are moving toward microprocessors that combine the central processing unit (CPU) and graphics on the same piece of silicon and Nvidia possibly seeing its chip-set business disappear.

In the coming months and years, Intel and AMD are looking to change the way the world thinks about computing by combining the CPU and graphics on the same piece of silicon.
