Amilo Pro series: Enhanced connectivity at an affordable price

Johannesburg, 05 Oct 2005

Annex Distribution has released the Fujitsu Siemens Computers value line of basic professional notebooks, the Amilo Pro V series. It offers the latest in affordable mobile connectivity. At the top end of the Pro V scale of functionality are the V2040 and the V2045 models.

With a sleek design that binds together the latest in mobility, connectivity and presentation technology, the Amilo Pro V2040 and its larger sibling, the V2045, are ideally priced for the occasional user, while it delivers more than enough top-end specs to suit professionals.

The Amilo Pro V series recently won Gold at the UK What Laptop Awards in the `best-in-class` manufacturing category.

With built-in wireless LAN, LAN, modem and four 2.0 USB ports, the Amilo Pro V2040 and V2045 models, with Intel 915PM Chipset and Intel 915GM Chipset respectively, easily adapt to different working environments and can use several peripherals and storage devices at once.

Both editions feature the power-saving Intel Pentium M Processor, Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 BG LAN, 60GB hard drive, DVD writer and an ergonomic keyboard. Both are ideal for presentations, with S-Video Out capacity.

Digital photographs, MP3 files and PDA information can easily be downloaded to the notebook from your cellphone, camera, MP3 player or PDA with the three in one card reader that reads SD, MMC and memory stick formats.

The V2045 has a slight advantage over its sibling when it comes to its brilliant display. The slightly larger 15.4-inch wide-screen display also represents a step up in resolution due to the smooth and fast graphics delivered by the Radeon X300 64MB dedicated graphics memory.

Jason Gibb, Fujitsu Siemens Computers Product Manager at Annex Distribution, suggests that the product will appeal to professionals in the market for a competent and affordable mobile and wireless laptop.

"Fujitsu Siemens Computers has reinforced its capability within this ultra-competitive arena. The level of functionality, practicality and affordability that is being brought into the product mix is helping to entrench the company`s position and making mobile technology more accessible. The Amilo Pro series demonstrates that it is possible to attain higher levels of mobile quality at a competitive rate," says Gibb.

The V2040 is set to retail at R8 999 VAT inclusive and the V2045 at R9 999 VAT inclusive.
