Analytix launches Togaf Enterprise Architecture Training Course

Johannesburg, 08 Apr 2008

Analytix announced the introduction of the Togaf Version 8.1.1 Enterprise Architecture Training Course as an official member of The Open Group.

This contemporary course, which enhances the Analytix portfolio of internationally recognised best practice training courses, is being introduced as a result of growing market demand for IT governance and related training, according to Johan Botha, Managing Director of Analytix.

The practical four-day course, delivered by certified instructors, is designed to:

* Instruct students in the basics of Enterprise Architecture and TOGAF 8.
* To familiarise students with the features of TOGAF and its methodology.
* To enable students to take best advantage of how to use TOGAF in their work.
* To gain an understanding of the necessary body of knowledge to achieve certification to the TOGAF 8 CERTIFIED qualification.

The effective management and exploitation of information through IT has become a key contributor to strategic and operational success of most businesses today. This has resulted in IT being increasingly challenged to align IT with the business strategy and to understand how IT adds value to the business.

The purpose of a well-designed and implemented enterprise architecture addresses this need: to create a map of IT assets and business processes, and also a set of governance principles that drive a constant synergy between business strategy and IT.

Information architecture and technological architecture in the form of Togaf complement IT strategy, IT governance, and in particular frameworks, standards, and certifications such as CobiT.

The practical approach of Analytix ensures enterprise architecture is not a theoretical concept, especially since EA is not an "out-of-the-box" product. Analytix's approach rather ensures the active application built from within the company, which is unique to each company and its company culture.

For clients, Togaf is a means of enhancing the effective operations of a company, by providing them with the know-how and skills to translate business architecture into practice in line with IT, and furthermore makes delegates more marketable in the industry.

Botha explains that a well-designed enterprise architecture offers the following benefits to an organisation:

* Improved ability to respond to new business demands
* Improved ability to introduce new technology
* Greater business value from IT operations
* Faster, simpler, cheaper procurement
* Faster time-to-market

CISA / CISM CPE Credits

The Analytix Togaf training course is also directly applicable to the assessment of information systems or the improvement of audit, control, security or managerial skills to ensure a proper balance of professional development is attained.

As such, this training falls under ISACA definition "workshops, and professional meetings and related activities not sponsored by ISACA". Fourteen Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours are earned by attending this course.
