Intel has released its Pentium M Processor, described as the next level and "key component" of the company`s Centrino mobile technology offering.
The new Intel Pentium M Processor combines the 855 chipset family and Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 network connection to provide speeds of up to 1.70GHz, with cache level reaching 2MB and wireless connection moving from 11Mbps to 54Mbps.
Intel supplier ANNEX Distribution will make the product available to the local market at the end of February.
"Centrino mobile technology has enjoyed a significant amount of exposure within local industry. Intel has positioned this technology to enhance the adoption of mobile and wireless technology which continues to show signs of growth and development. The Pentium M Processor includes several performance enhancements such as 400MHz system bus, Micro-Ops Fusion and Dedicated Stack Manager. In addition the product features advanced instruction prediction to reduce re-dos for better performance," explains Bill Gradwell, General Manager at ANNEX.
