With the huge economic debt incurred by municipalities in SA, a crying need for a comprehensive, but easy to operate system to rectify the problem, became apparent. Not only was there a need for a debt collection tool, but more importantly, for future stability and economic prosperity of municipalities, a tool for credit management and debt collection.
Solutions provider company, Integrear Indicium, was approached by Dr Chris Kapp, MD of Zader Municipal Services, to design a fully comprehensive credit management and debt collection system, one which focused exclusively on municipalities. This was done according to the manual on debt collection and credit management requested by government from Dr Kapp.
Thus Zeus was born.
Zeus can be differentiated from other systems in that it is not simply debt collection software. Rather, it is a system which empowers municipalities to train their own staff in credit management and the facilitation of debt collection.
According to Ivan O Neill, Sales Executive of Zader Municipal Services, the Zeus system is different and superior in that "it is absolutely South African in its design and specifically built around the exacerbated South African problem of non-payment".
He adds: "Because it is such an easy tool to use, the turnaround time from purchase to installation, training and use is very quick, thereby empowering municipalities almost immediately in their quest to retrieve money in arrears."
With the Zeus program a credit management and debt collection environment is established and control over how debt is collected and how indigent consumers are dealt with, lies within the municipality itself.
Zeus is already entrenched in the market, with installation at the municipalities of George, Newcastle, Nelspruit and Worcester.
