Apacer launches 4GB Kit Aeolus Overclocking Memory Module

Johannesburg, 14 Jul 2008

Broad-based ICT distributor Pinnacle Micro, part of the JSE-listed Pinnacle Technology Holdings (PTH) group, has announced the local availability of Apacer's high capacity 4GB kit Aeolus series of DDR3-1800MHz/1600MHz overclocking memory modules.

The Aeolous series arrives in SA in August.

Shane Hutchinson, Apacer product manager at Pinnacle Micro, said the overclocking market was excited when the 2GB kit Aeolus series was launched. Apacer took advantage of this with the launch of its 4GB kit Aeolus series. These modules make use of Micron Technology's most advanced production process technology.

He said the dual-channel architecture provides maximum bandwidth of 28.8GB (1 800MHz) with low-latency CL8-8-8-24 timing - but only needs 1.8 V low power consumption, giving the Apacer Aeolus DDR3 memory modules outstanding performance and more potential on overclocking to attain a higher speed in the 1 800MHz product category.

Besides providing ultra-high capacity and speed, ultra-low latency and improved power consumption, the Apacer Aeolus memory modules also use a unique, patented active heat spreader design that makes it possible to reduce the temperature by as much as 20^0C. This highly effective solution to the problem of heat dissipation for DDR3 overclocking memory modules improves both overclocking performance and memory stability.

Apacer's new 4GB kit Aeolus series provides DDR3-1800MHz/1600MHz memory module in a dual-channel (2GBx2) package, and supports Intel's latest XMP (Extreme Memory Profiles). When used with a motherboard that supports Intel XMP, the chipset will automatically read the memory module's SPD (Serial Presence Detect) and will then automatically perform overclocking, enabling the user to experience all the excitement and power that overclocking has to offer.
