Apian receives $10 mil funding

Appian, a global provider of BPM technology, has received $10 million from Novak Biddle Venture in the first round of venture funding in Appian's nine-year history, says Market Watch.

Appian will use the funds to expand its position in the market, and to invest in market adoption of its industry-changing Appian Anywhere software-as-a-service (SaaS) product, built on the Appian Enterprise BPM Suite.

Novak Biddle co-founder and general Jack Biddle will join the Appian board of directors.

ICEcore adds workflow, changes name

ICEcore, the open source collaboration platform that unifies team workspaces with real-time conferencing, has changed its name to Kablink and is adding new workflow functionality to automate and streamline collaboration processes, reports Market Watch.

The only open source collaboration solution to offer workflow, this new capability facilitates and controls information flow throughout an organisation and allows sophisticated collaboration applications to be created from the user interface.

The name change was instigated by the addition of these new workflow capabilities and by the need to avoid confusion in the marketplace with first generation technologies.
