
Apple deploys competition barriers
The recent changes to Apple's developers' agreement could cripple Google's advertising tools for the iPhone, reports TMCnet.
Apple has prohibited certain third-party ad agencies from collecting critical usage data from iPhone applications.
AdMob disclosed that roughly one-third of the ads it offers were for devices running the iPhone and iPad platform. AdMob claims barriers to competition stall technological process and hurts users and developers.
China converges telco networks
The Chinese government had approved plans to converge three telecommunications networks across pilot cities this month, states China Tech News.
The pilot programme is expected to be beneficial for the state administration of radio, film and television of China and it clarifies who will be responsible for the construction and management of the IPTV integrated broadcasting and control platform.
The convergence of three networks will cover many sectors, including renovation of cable and telecom networks; manufacturing of highly-integrated chips; content creation; billing and network maintenance software; and telecom equipment.
HP to unveil smartphone printers
HP is set to roll out three smartphone-enabled printers and plans to provide capabilities for remote and local Web-based printing, says Beta News.
The Photosmart e-All-in-One inkjet printer, will ship later this month, and a new ePrint application for the printer will become available at around the same time.
HP CEO and chairman Mark Hurd told financial analysts that HP is planning an entire series of Web-connected printers, and that these printers will sport WebOS, a mobile OS developed by Palm for use on Pre and its other phones.
