Apple planning gesture-controlled TV
Sky News states.
Dubbed iTV, the highly anticipated TV set from the company that invented the iPad and iPhone would reportedly combine traditional viewing with the Internet, allowing increased interactivity and connections to other devices.
IOL says the set, which will use similar technology to interactive gaming consoles that read body movement, is likely to make it easy to access films from the Internet, and follows on from the latest voice-controlled iPhones.
Last month, it also emerged that the US patent office had received details of an Apple device for “real-time video process control using gestures”.
Gestures could edit video, or "throw" it from one device to another, say to transfer a film from a mobile phone to a bigger screen, The Guardian notes.
The patents mention facial recognition, to tag individuals in videos so that home videos can be grouped according to who features in them.
