Apple planning new TV?
A nifty bit of detective work suggests that a new Apple TV could be about to touch down, CNET reports.
In the US, Amazon has dropped the price of the current model by $10, but not only that, it's started referring to it as the 2010 version, hinting that a new model is on the way.
In addition, Amazon has added a '2010' label next to the gadget, indicating that a 2011 model is on the way (or that it is simply distinguishing it from the earlier version) BGR says. In May, a rumour surfaced that suggested Apple was building a new Apple TV that will support full 1080p video output, iCloud, 16GB of storage and a new A5 processor.
Though Apple declined to release a hardware update to its Apple TV this year, it did release a software update around the one-year mark, PowerPage notes. Version 4.4 of the set-top box's software added compatibility with new iOS 5 features such as AirPlay Mirroring and Photo Stream. The update also added a Trailers app, as well as access to Wall Street Journal Live and National Hockey League content.
