Aptronics, a full service IT solutions provider to the local corporate market, announced this week that Storage Area Network (SAN) Architect, Anthea Nadin, has become the first woman in South Africa to attain the status of Master Accredited Systems Engineer (MASE) - SAN Architect from HP.
To attain this level of Storage certification, one has to have a thorough theoretical and practical level of knowledge and expertise in all aspects of Storage.
This is according to Ken Marsden, Professional Services Manager at Aptronics.
The Master ASE, says Marsden, has several requirements, as follows:
* Explain and position enterprise class products
* Plan and design a solution within a speciality area (including all components)
* Master platforms, operating systems, storage, network and option components
* Support of technical and business solutions
* Master business class, networked environments as well as complex, enterprise class environments
* Competence on applications and middleware
"I have always enjoyed the more practical side of IT, as well as every aspect of storage including design and implementation of complex solutions" Nadin comments.
"This prestigious certification is testimony not only to Nadin`s own enthusiasm, dedication and level of skill; but also to the high priority which skills empowerment, development and training are assigned by Aptronics," Marsden points out.
"We believe that it is vital to provide our industry partners and their staff members with the best levels of knowledge and skills available, in order to really empower them in their area of competency. MASEs are recognised for their exceptional network storage architecture proficiencies," comments Audrey Potter, Channel Education Manager at HP.
"Nadin`s successful certification contributes towards the pool of high-level HP Storage skills which Aptronics has," she advises.
Aptronics, which has enjoyed HP Partner status for the past decade, was the first Black Empowerment Partner to obtain HP StorageWorks certification; and is also recognised as one of the leading HP Enterprise System Resellers in South Africa.
Furthermore, earlier this year, Aptronics was signed up to the specialist HP StorageWorks Elite Partner Programme.
"Aptronics is thrilled to have the first woman to attain this very high level HP Storage certification; which is proof, in itself, of the tremendous encouragement we give to all our staff to empower themselves and to keep on developing themselves.
This is the fruitful foundation on which our success as a company is based; because it means that our highly skilled staff can provide the very best expertise and service to our customers, " Appie Pema, Aptronics MD, concludes.
Aptronics is a black empowered IT solutions and service provider with an all-consuming belief in customer service, quality and integrity. As such, we have a sound industry reputation for putting principles into practice when it comes to having high standards of skills development and customer service excellence. As a very active corporate reseller, Aptronics works closely with several key international vendors, including Hewlett Packard (HP), Novell and Microsoft.
