Aptronics, a local fully integrated corporate IT solutions and service provider, announced this week that two of its system management engineers, Pritesh Jewan and Conrad Woollatt, have qualified as the first two IBM Certified Advanced Deployment Professionals in the Tivoli Enterprise Management Solutions space, in SA.
An Advanced Deployment Professional is an individual who has demonstrated a higher level of implementation knowledge and skill - both in the breadth and in the depth of the IBM Tivoli Enterprise Management solutions arena.
This is according to Ken Marsden, Professional Services Manager at Aptronics, who says that this pre-eminent certification is testimony not only to Aptronics` strong relationship with IBM as an advanced business partner with an ongoing commitment not only to black economic empowerment, but also to skills empowerment, development and training investment in Aptronics` own staff.
"We believe that our staff will only be enabled to do the best job possible for our customers if we provide them with the best tools available - the knowledge and skills to empower their areas of competency," Marsden comments.
According to Marsden, to obtain the IBM Certified Advanced Deployment Professional - Tivoli Enterprise Management Solutions 2005 certification, candidates should objectively demonstrate industry as well as product-specific skills and knowledge. IBM validates this knowledge by requiring the candidate to pass four tests.
"The certification enables the recipients to architect and design solutions based on the Tivoli product suite. In addition, the certification also includes non-technical competencies in the form of ITIL, which is a best-practice approach to IT infrastructure management," he points out.
