E-commerce solutions provider, Aqua Online has added another component to its overall e-commerce offering, enhancing the e-commerce experience of customers world-wide. As part of its portfolio of services, Aqua Online is now offering its customers a payment gateway into the US banking system, enabling local companies to process credit cards through any site or web application and to trade in US dollars.
Aqua Pay was established in conjunction with the First Data Corporation (FDC), and enables Aqua Online`s clients to transact with over 600 US banks. Aqua Pay is one of the few gateways into the US credit card processing system providing clients with real-time online reporting as well as access to information on the processing of transactions. All of this is hosted at Aqua Online and is entirely secure.
It is the intention of Aqua Pay to make the US and other international market places more accessible to any business wanting to tap into the lucrative e-commerce market. Companies no longer have to go through a series of procedures to achieve their payment requirements. Now Aqua Online`s customers can utilise one company and one product, simplifying their overall e-commerce experience. Adding Aqua Pay to Aqua Online`s portfolio of product offerings enables Aqua Online to retain all its service offerings in-house.
Says Brent Shahim, managing director of Aqua Online South Africa: "It is our mission to make e-commerce a reality and by adding this dimension to our portfolio of solutions we are able to provide our customers with hassle-free access to the American market."
Aqua Pay enables companies and individuals with an Internet site to accept credit cards and transact in US dollars. Comments FDC: "Aqua Online has pre-empted its competitors and with Aqua Pay it will provide South African companies with an opportunity to internationalise their sites. We look forward to a continued relationship with Aqua Online."
"Aqua Pay originally targeted the US due to the overwhelming demand from clients for transactions in US dollars. In addition to our payment gateway in the US we are looking at establishing a similar operation in the UK, therefore providing a true multi-currency service," concludes Shahim.
